Probability of Forest Fires in Glacier National Park

Series of maps showing different fire hazards of the area. Final map (first image) takes into account each type of hazard and determines areas at the highest risk of forest fires.

To combine several layers of fire hazards into one map, I reclassified each layer to a similar system. The layers were classified based on a scale of one. Some hazards were all around classified as a level one, while some were split into several classes to distinguish the more dangerous areas. For the more detailed data each hazard started at one, and then any escalation of the hazard went up my one more. The land cover was split into nine categories, each being classified as one level more hazardous than the previous. The Slope over 35 data was classified into 5 categories depending on the angle of the slope. Starting at above 35 degrees as a hazard level of one and then going up one level for every extra 10 degrees of slope.
